Phase of Life Adjustment
Divorce
Divorce can be devastating to all members of the family, especially children. Parents often feel an increase in depression and anxiety. Children often react with depression, anger, behavioral problems and performance problems in school.
Counseling can help all family members, including children, to adjust to the changes brought by divorce and to minimize its impact. Counseling can also help parents to understand the best way to manage their children during this transition period. Adults frequently need counseling to navigate the oncoming changes to their family dynamic. If you are thinking of getting a divorce, call us to find out if your marriage can be saved. If you are beyond the point of salvaging your marriage, we can help you transition through the rough spots that accompany divorce. |
Grief and Loss
Losing a loved one is heart wrenching. We often feel as though there may be no possible end to our sorrow. There is no right or wrong way to grieve; but there are healthy and unhealthy ways of coping with loss. Grief and sorrow, although painful, are important parts of the healing process. It is important that individuals be allowed to express their sorrow and that they be heard. Sorrow that is processed appropriately has the potential to expand hearts and heal wounds.
It is not uncommon for feelings of grief to return on certain days that remind you of your loved one. This can even occur annually on the anniversary of your loved ones passing. The recurrence of these sorrowful feelings are not a setback in the healing process but rather another layer of emotional healing as you reflect on how much you care for and miss your loved one. |
PostPartum Depression
Postpartum depression is a condition that affects many women during pregnancy or after childbirth. Having a baby is taxing on all of the mothers systems. Her body is exhausted, her hormones are working overtime to re-balance. She may not be sleeping through the night. The added stress of caring for a child can be overwhelming. When these symptoms linger longer than the typical “baby blues”, chances are the mother is experiencing postpartum depression. Don't let postpartum depression sideline you. We can help. Our counselors are understanding and empathetic. We will listen to you, and help you find yourself again.

Personal and Family Crisis
Trying times can hit anyone throughout their life. When a life event occurs that is beyond our current ability to cope and adapt, we are susceptible to a crisis. A crisis occurs when our normal problem solving skills are outmatched by the circumstances we are facing, resulting in a level of anxiety that seems unending.
Our counselors are trained to help you learn and develop additional coping skills to add to your bag of life tools. The events you are going through do not define you. We can help you learn to change the things that are within your control, while letting go of the things that are outside of your control. |
