Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a working relationship between you and your counselor. This process aims to facilitate change while improving your quality of life. Therapy can help you identify and confront barriers that interfere with emotional and mental well-being.
We provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults. Our counselors are trained in a variety of practices to meet your needs. Some common reasons for seeking individual therapy are:

Marital Therapy
Ideally, a marriage is a mutually fulfilling relationship. When done successfully, marriage becomes a partnership to achieve important life goals, and working to develop the personal virtues that will sustain and enrich both parties. Marriage or couples counseling is designed to help you understand each other, resolve conflicts, and improve your relationship. Our counselors will give you the tools to communicate better, solve problems, negotiate differences and even "Fight Fair" aka communicate in a healthier and more productive manner. Let us help you to establish or regain the close relationship you desire.
For couples considering marriage, premarital counseling can help ensure that you and your partner have a strong, healthy relationship — giving you a better chance for a stable and satisfying marriage. Premarital counseling can also help you identify weaknesses that could become bigger problems during marriage. At Cobalt Counseling, we can give you the tools to avoid that pitfalls that have destroyed so many marriages. We can help you build the foundation for a successful marriage. The issues that Cobalt Counseling can help you and a spouse cope with include:

Group Therapy
Group therapy is a type of therapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. Being part of a group of people who have had similar experiences helps people see that what they are going through is universal and that they are not alone. Group members share information, talk about their strengths, and help others in the group, which can boost self-esteem and confidence. Group therapy is also a way for clients to cut costs. Our group therapy sessions run at a fraction of the cost of individual session.

Family Therapy
The Family unit is susceptible to many influences that tear at the fabric of the home. We are aware that many families are struggling with issues related to having; a single-parent household, blended families, adolescent problems, divorce, substance abuse and pornography addiction.
Here at Cobalt Counseling, your counselor is trained to observe the interactions, structure and organization of your unique family. Depending on your family’s situation, your counselor might recommend that you meet as a whole family or might suggest some supplemental individual appointments to address topics and issues that relate to your family’s therapy work. Our goal in family therapy is to increase overall well-being of the family. We help families resolve their problems by:

Substance Abuse Treatment
Cobalt Counseling’s outpatient substance abuse program provides individualized, substance-abuse and mental-health treatment to adults and adolescents.
After completing a comprehensive assessment, your therapist collaborates with you to develop a treatment plan designed to address your specific needs. A course of treatment may include any combination of methods, including group, individual, couples or family therapy, tools and strategies including motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral awareness, skill development, and relapse prevention. All clients admitted to our substance abuse program have been diagnosed with alcohol or substance abuse, as appropriate by the DSM 5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5). Only those clients appropriate for outpatient treatment are accepted. Clients needing more intensive treatment are referred to an appropriate program that offers intensive inpatient treatment and or detoxification. Substance abuse can be devastating to families. Relationships are often marred by denial, dishonesty and conflict. Individuals in recovery frequently want to repair those relationships, but often lack the necessary skills. Your therapist is an integral partner in helping you and your family learn to repair relationships damaged by addiction. Research tells us that involving family members in treatment whenever possible improves outcomes. |
